Plans for Employers & Organizations
HMO vs. PPO Plans
With a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plan, members are required to see in-network or participating providers. We have a statewide network of providers and hospitals for our members to utilize.
With a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan, you are allowed to see any provider you choose. If you choose to visit an in-network or participating provider, your expenses—such as copays, deductibles, and coinsurance—will be lower than your expenses if you were to visit an out-of-network or non-participating provider.
Pediatric Vision Services
Children under age 19 who are enrolled in any New Mexico Health Connections individual or small group plan are eligible for Pediatric Vision Services. They can receive an eye exam from a Vision Service Plan (VSP) provider one time per year. They may also receive eyeglasses or contact lenses.
